Meet Annika

Hi, I’m Annika (they/any) and I am a Full Spectrum Doula and Birthworker including Prenatal, Birth, Postpartum Period, Abortion, Grief & Loss. I am living and flowing on occupied Peoria land (Northwest suburbs of Chicago). I provide client-centered care where I look at the whole individual and actively practice being open and aware of the diverse reproductive needs and experiences people have in light of their identity, background, preferences, lived experiences, etc.

My expertise centers informational, physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support in my work. I desire to bring as much autonomy, safety, and presentness as possible into working together to be able to meet each client exactly where they are at. I intentionally focus on listening to those I work with to collaboratively cultivate a vision to create the experience each individual desires to have. Drawing from more than 10 years of experience in healing practices, as well as utilizing every resource within my reach in my communities to broaden what my clients have access to, I work to make knowledge, wisdom and healing experiences accessible for my clients.

I was introduced to Doula work through a magikal member of my community garden while living in San Diego and had the pleasure of training with For the Village with the truly revolutionary and trailblazing Sabia Wade amongst many other Divine Birthworkers. Prior to this, I had been working with young people in a wide variety of capacities from babysitting and being a nanny growing up, to coaching to running after school programs with kids while continually developing a wide variety of healing and spiritual practices. Shifting into Doula work was a natural transition and progression for me, combining the two components of healing work and kids that I had always been drawn to and had been cultivating extensive expertise in. I center kindness, joy and radical Love in all I do, especially my Doula practices and Birthwork. Some of the other things I are currently enjoying in this life include juicing, nurturing my plants, reading and learning, long nature walks, and spending time with my mischievous and energetic orange cat André Leon Diablo. If I were to be any fruit, I would be a passionfruit, and my favorite color is orange.
