Meet Harmony

Hi, I’m Harmony. I am certified as a full-spectrum birth justice doula. My knowledge and warmth are evident in my commitment to continuing to learn and grow in this work and be a trusted support for expectant and new families.

I bring decades of childcare experience into my work as a doula. A babysitter from a young age, I’ve always been drawn to babies and toddlers. I have worked as a preschool teacher and as a nanny and volunteering has been a large part of my life – with a mom’s co-op, as a youth mentor, in my church’s nursery, with seniors, with unhoused individuals and with other marginalized groups. I have been a doula for family and friends for over 20 years and am also a mother of three – I remember how impactful the support I received during birth and postpartum was, and am honored to have the opportunity to be a supportive presence for others.

I love walking alongside expectant parents and families – sharing information, physical and emotional support, facilitating communicating with the medical care team and the family, navigating health care systems and supports in hospital and home birth settings.

My breadth and depth of knowledge on newborn/infant development make me an amazing resource. It is in my ability to connect in a non-judgmental way with the family that forms a trusted bond between me, the infant, and the entire family. My balance of information and experience support my ability to be a calming presence amidst the transitions of an ever-evolving family.

I also have experience supporting children with special needs, including feeding, sensory, and developmental challenges. I look at myself as a “born helper” and am privileged to be welcomed into the sacred, private space that birth and the postpartum time are meant to be. I am warm, friendly, and engaging – I look forward to connecting with you and your family!
