Doula Training Makes the Local News

On Friday, March 10, 2023 to Sunday, March 12, 2023, Sokana Collective led a Full-Spectrum Birth Justice Doula Training in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The event was hosted by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) for Better Birth. BIPOC for Better Birth is a non-profit based in East-Central Illinois. It was founded in 2021 by three women (Michelle Burton, Isis Rose, and Victoria Baez) interested in creating a thriving community of BIPOC birth workers across Central Illinois.
